Harsha Heroes Create Thanksgiving Baskets for Families in need

Thanksgiving Baskets

To spread cheer and kindness this holiday season, Harsha Behavioral Center is offering Thanksgiving food baskets to their staff and community members. Harsha Behavioral Center is teaming up with school counselors, case managers and staff members to deliver baskets to families in need in time for the holidays.

“This time of year can be difficult on many families within our community,” states Roopam Harshawat, CEO and President of Harsha Behavioral Center. “The Harsha team wanted to give back to the community we serve, and our amazing staff and community members answered the call by nominating families who were struggling to receive these Thanksgiving baskets. The Heart of Harsha is dedicated to serving our community, and I am proud that our staff and community members came together in order to spread some holiday cheer.”

Harsha Behavioral Center created numerous Thanksgiving baskets for families this year. Many community members plan to spend Friday and Monday picking up the baskets and delivering them to families. Harsha staff members will also be delivering baskets to families who do not have a means of transportation to pick up their baskets.

“This is a great way for us as staff to give back to people that we think need it,” said Pat Brown, Harsha Behavioral Center employee.

“It feels good to be involved in the food baskets. I can’t wait to deliver my basket to my neighbor,” states Laconda Carson, Harsha Behavioral Center employee.

Many school counselors also identified families that are in need of extra help. This not only allowed them to deliver the baskets, but it also allowed them to check in on students and families to ensure that they were doing well.

“We are grateful to our staff and community members for their support,” states Mel Kirchner, Senior Director of Harsha Behavioral Center. “It is truly amazing to see our community come together in order to help those who need it most during the holiday season.”
