Harsha Behavioral Center receives referrals from physicians, psychiatrists, child and adolescent services, and other mental health and behavioral centers throughout Indiana and Illinois. Parent referrals and walk-ins are always welcome. Our admission process only takes one phone call to our Access Center to refer a patient; our highly trained Admission Coordinators will be able to immediately tell you if they are a direct admit or if we feel they need to brought in for a no-cost screening.
Criteria for Admissions
- Suicidal or Homicidal ideation or attempt
- Harm to self or others
- Severely depressed mood, feelings of helplessness, severely impaired contact with reality, or severely disorganized thinking.
- Recent incident of significant self-mutilation, significant risk-taking, or loss of impulse control resulting in danger to self or others.
- Admission is court ordered.
Insurance: Harsha Behavioral Center accepts most payment sources, including Indiana Medicaid, Illinois Public Aid and self pay.
