Harsha Behavioral Center receives referrals from physicians, psychiatrists, child and adolescent services, and other mental health and behavioral centers throughout Indiana and Illinois. Parent referrals and walk-ins are always welcome.
At Harsha Behavioral Center, we understand that every inquiry means that there is a crisis situation. We strive to make the admission process stress free and fast for everyone.
All referrals are processed through the Director of Patient Access in conjunction with a physician to determine eligibility for in-patient care. In some cases this may mean a no-cost, on-site assessment.
With one phone call to the Access Center, you will know if the patient has been accepted for immediate admission.
Criteria for Admissions:
- Suicidal or Homicidal ideation or suicidal attempt
- Harm to self or others
- Severely depressed mood, feelings of helplessness,
severely impaired contact with reality,
or severely disorganized thinking - Recent incident of significant self-mutilation, significant risk-taking, or loss of impulse control resulting in danger to self or others.
- Admission is court ordered.
Insurance:
Harsha Behavioral Center accepts most payment sources, including Indiana Medicaid, Illinois Public Aid and self pay.
